Dontavais Shyheim Hutson, 18, was arrested July 15 on a charge of burglary of a residence.

GULFPORT -- Police arrested 18-year-old Dontavais Shyheim Hutson and a 16-year-old juvenile accused of stealing a video game system and numerous games from a home Tuesday, Sgt. Damon McDaniel said.

Officers responded to a home in the 2600 block of Demaret Drive about 11:29 a.m. and learned Hutson, of Gulfport, and the 16-year-old were seen kicking in the victim's door and later leaving with a bag of unknown items.

McDaniel said officers later located Hutson and the juvenile and arrested them on charges of burglary of a residence. He said a video game system and numerous games were later recovered.

McDaniel said Hutson was held at the Harrison county jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond set by Municipal Court Judge Felicia Dunn-Burkes. He said the 16-year-old was held at the Juvenile Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
