Grothman raises nearly $138,000 for US House race

The Associated PressJuly 16, 2014

— State Sen. Glenn Grothman has raised nearly $138,000 for his campaign for the Wisconsin congressional seat now held by retiring Republican Rep. Tom Petri (PEE'-treye).

A campaign finance report filed late Tuesday shows Grothman received about $135,000 in individual donations and about $3,000 from political action committees. He also has loaned his campaign $10,000 of his own money.

Grothman faces a four-way Republican primary on Aug. 12 with State Sen. Joe Leibham , state Rep. Duey Stroebel and Tom Denow, a technical college instructor.

Leibham and Stroebel both brought at least $300,000 during the quarter that ended June 30.

The Federal Election Commission requires candidates to file reports if they raise at least $5,000. Denow says he has not reached that limit.
