JOE BOUGHTON: This curious taxpayer wants to know more

July 15, 2014

The Sun Herald's front page article on Sunday listed the salaries of nine PR officials the state of Mississippi employes.

Will the Sun Herald publish the salaries of other state employees? I believe the taxpayers of the state, who pay these salaries, deserve to know what these officials are paid. Most would probably think the governor, as the top official of the state, would be paid the highest salary. He is not, and not by a long shot.

The state website does not have these salaries. Why not?

At the federal level it's no secret what the president, vice president, senators and representatives are paid. How about we see what all state public employees are paid Sun Herald?

This curious taxpayer wants to know.
