Body found in ditch in Southaven

— Police in Southaven say the body of a homeless man has been found in a ditch along Interstate 55.

Lt. Mark Little tells The Commercial Appeal (http://bit.ly/1oXmUnR ) that someone cutting the grass along the highway right of way found the body Tuesday near Church Road. Little says the body had been in the ditch for some time.

He says the man had been camping in the area recently. Details of the man's identity were not released.

The state medical examiner's office will perform an autopsy.
