Ex-teacher convicted in nude selfies case

The Associated PressJuly 15, 2014

— A former North Pike Middle School teacher accused of showing nude photos of himself to students has pleaded no contest in Pike County Court.

Court records show 34-year-old James David Clements of McComb entered the plea Friday to one misdemeanor count of contributing to the neglect of a minor.

A no contest plea isn't an admission of guilt but is treated as such for sentencing.

The Enterprise-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1p24UHj ) Clements was given a six-month suspended sentence. He was directed he have no contact with the victims and to undergo one year of unsupervised probation.

The misdemeanor conviction does not require Clements to register as a sex offender.

According to the affidavits, victims alleged Clements of directly showing them nude cellphone photos of him. The incidents occurred in 2013.
