Couple wants to operate ice cream truck

The Associated PressJuly 15, 2014

— Tansy Jones and Rodney Lancaster want to operate an ice cream truck in Ocean Springs.

They are stymied by an ordinance that bans mobile vending in the Mississippi coastal city. They're trying to get it changed.

Jones and Lancaster are transplants to the city of Ocean Springs and together they have three teenagers.

They needed a job for themselves and something their teens could do.

The couple found a particular style of ice cream truck they liked and flew to Massachusetts to pick it up.

They tell WLOX-TV in Biloxi (http://bit.ly/1jrG7P6 ) that they loaded up the truck and prepared to hit the Ocean Springs streets when someone told them it was illegal.

They have talked to the city Board of Aldermen and are hoping for a decision in 30 days.
