HARRISON COUNTY -- An early-morning fire destroyed a mechanic and woodworking shop in Saucier, Harrison County Fire Marshal Pat Sullivan said.

Firefighters from Saucier called to the scene found the building on Hundson Lane engulfed in flames.

Units from Lizana, McHenry, the Gulfport airport and Harrison County Fire Service responded to a request for assistance.

In all, 10 trucks and 21 firefighters battled the blaze.

A trailer home within feet of the shops was protected by firefighters and was not damaged.

Sullivan said two firefighters were treated on scene for heat-related issues, but were not taken to the hospital.

The fire is under investigation.
