The price tag for beating testicular cancer
The Terrys transformed their dining room into a bill-payment center from December to April. Their table that once held art supplies and space for eating now held an accordion file folder full of medical bills.
Tori kept a planner filled with reminders of due payments and medical appointments.
After Derek was placed in remission in late April, the Terrys said their total expenses for beating cancer came to about $181,800.
That includes Derek's initial ER visit, a surgery to have a port inserted, a surgery to remove his testicle, three PET scans and four rounds of chemotherapy.
