Miss Mississippi will be crowned tonight

Pageant finale will be televised on EXXV at 8 p.m.


VICKSBURG -- A new Miss Mississippi will be crowned tonight at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

In the run-up to tonight's finale, the second and third rounds of competition at the 2014 pageant have been completed.

In the second round of competition Thursday night, Miss Dixie Carol Coker won the swimsuit competition and Miss Deep South Caroline Conerly won the talent competition.

On Wednesday, the first night of preliminary competition, Miss Riverland Jasmine Murray and Miss Mississippi State University Laura Lee Lewis tied in the talent competition. Miss Historic South Randi-Kathryn Harmon was the swimwear winner.

Preliminary competition ended Friday night.

The pageant will be broadcast on the Coast starting at 8 p.m. on EXXV, Cable One channel 476.
