Giants sign first-round pick Beede

San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco Giants signed first-round pick pitcher Tyler Beede on Friday.

The terms of the deal were not released.

The right hander was the 14th overall selection in the 2014 draft.

Beede played college ball for Vanderbilt University, posting an 8-8 record with a 4.05 ERA and 116 strikeouts in 19 starts last season, which helped the Commodores win their first national championship.

The 21-year-old went 23-14 and struck out 287 batters in 52 games over three years at Vanderbilt.
