GULFPORT -- Police arrested a 24-year-old Gulfport woman Thursday who is accused of stealing about $1,500 from her sister.

Sgt. Damon McDaniel said officers responded to a residence in the 4400 block of 30th 1/2 Street on June 29 pertaining to a disturbance complaint. He said officers learned the victim arrived at the residence to confront April Marie Smith, her sister, about stealing about $1,500 in cash from her.

McDaniel said a warrant was obtained for Smith's arrest based on the information and she was entered into the National Crime Information Center as wanted.

Thursday, Smith was arrested on the warrant for grand larceny. Smith was held at the Harrison County jail in lieu of a $20,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray.
