MGCCC OL Martinas Rankin narrows list

MGCCC offensive tackle Martinas Rankin will pick between six schools.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College offensive lineman Martinas Rankin has trimmed his college list to six schools.

Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisville and Kentucky are his final six, in no order. Rankin also told these schools stood out last month and he reaffirmed this to this week.

Rankin visited MSU and Ole Miss, but hopes to visit the other schools as well.

"They're both good schools with good people and good facilities," Rankin said. "How are they different? Mississippi State is more chilled out, you know? That's the biggest difference.

Rankin, at 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds, will graduate in December and sign for the Mid-year Signing Period.

"I just want the academics and the football side to be good," he said. "I want a team that wins. I want a program that will make me better. I also want to fit the scheme."
