True the Vote refiles runoff suit in Southern District of Mississippi

Posted on July 9, 2014

True the Vote has refiled its suit over access to election records from the June 24 Republican runoff and has added more plaintiffs and defendants.

The suit filed in Jackson moves the suit to the federal court for the Southern District of Mississippi from the Northern District court in Oxford, where Judge Michael P. Mills earlier made a motion to move the suit.

The suit adds  adds Copiah, Hinds, Jefferson Davis, Lauderdale, Leake, Madison, Rankin, Simpson and Yazoo counties and their election commissions as defendants. It also adds eight more Mississippi voters as plaintiffs, bringing the total of voters suing to 22.
