PASCAGOULA -- A Louisiana man arrested Saturday is accused of beating another man over money the victim owed the suspect's father, Pascagoula police Capt. Shannon Massey said.

Michael William Modica, 32, of Kenner, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault shortly after the incident was reported about 5 a.m. Saturday, Massey said.

"He showed up at his house because the victim owed Modica's father $200, and he beat him until he got the money from him," Massey said.

The victim, 25, was taken to Singing River Hospital for treatment.

Modica was taken to the Pascagoula Municipal Jail. He has since been released on a $5,000 bond.
