3rd man jailed in Shady Lane burglary

BILOXI -- Police have arrested a third man on a residential burglary charge involving a break-in reported at a home on Shady Lane.

John Tristan Hinton, 18, of Gulfport, was held at the Harrison County jail on a $50,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Bruce Strong.

Witnesses in the neighborhood had called police just before 1 a.m. June 19 to report a burglary in progress. Officers heard glass breaking as they arrived, and realized someone was trying to get into the house, Detective Steve Schlicht said.

Police soon arrested Christopher James Jarrell, 29, of Biloxi, and arrested Travis Olen Holloway, 19, also of Biloxi, later that day. Strong set their bonds at $50,000 also.

Hinton was arrested Sunday. The men remained in custody Tuesday.

The jail docket shows Jarrell is not eligible to post bail. He is held on a parole warrant for the state Department of Corrections. He was convicted of felony evasion in 2013.
