Free school supplies at School Bash

MOSS POINT -- Singing River Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 3401 Main St. in Moss Point, will host the fourth annual Back to School Bash for Jackson County children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20.

There will be games, free food and free school supplies.

Food will be provided by the kitchen staff of Singing River Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. They will be serving nachos, pickles, popsicles and beverages.

Local first responders will demonstrate K-9 units, patrol cars, fire trucks and ambulance services.

Moss Point mayor kicks off mitigation project today

MOSS POINT -- Mayor Billy Broomfield will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. today to announce the start of the Rose Drive Area Mitigation Flood Project.

The event will be held at 5630 Rose Drive in Moss Point and the public is invited.

Five-week, free acting workshop to begin Friday

Will Koolsbergen, artistic director of the Pass Christian Theatre Project, will offer a five-session workshop for new actors ages 18 and up beginning Friday. The workshop is for those who have little or no acting experience and want to learn the basics.

Participants are expected to attend all sessions, through Aug. 8, and a public performance for invited guests. The workshop, including materials, is free. Enrollment is limited to 15 people, and the deadline to sign up is Thursday.
