Gulfport High JROTC Rifle Team wins State Championship

The Gulfport High School Marine Corps JROTC Rifle Team won the all-service State Rifle Championship in Brandon for a second straight year. The team, from left, includes Brittany Robins, Jillian Tyler, with Lt. Col. John Owens (back), Rebecca Cook, Desia Tyler and Ryan Cook, kneeling. The Gulfport High team shot a 2147, beating out South Panola Air Force JROTC. Ryan Cook finished best overall in the state with a 551, first in Prone, first in Standing, and thrd in Kneeling; Tyler finished fourth overall with a 541, second in Prone, and third in Standing; and Brittany Robins finished third in Prone.
