Jackson downs Huntsville 8-5

Jackson hit a pair of home runs, including a three-run homer late in the game by D.J. Peterson, giving the Generals an 8-5 win over the Huntsville Stars on Sunday at Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville.

In the first inning after Robinson Diaz singled home Kentrail Davis, giving the Stars a 1-0 lead.

From there it was all Generals. Huntsville starter Drew Gagnon only lasted two innings and Jackson got to him in the top of the second.

With one on and one out, Dan Paolini sent a two-run homer over the left center field wall for his fifth homer of the season. Jack Marder also contributed a sacrifice fly in the inning for a 3-1 lead.

Jackson starter Victor Sanchez (4-4) was in control most of the day after allowing the first-inning run. Sanchez, did however let the Stars to close the gap on their 3-1 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Nick Shaw led off with a triple. Diaz scored Shaw on a sacrifice fly making it 3-2.
