Jackson downs Huntsville 7-6 in 10 innings


The Jackson General rallied from a two-run deficit, and upended the Huntsville Stars 7-6 in 10 innings Saturday night in Southern League baseball action at Joe W. Davis Stadium in Huntsville.

Jackson tied the game at 6 in the eighth inning, scoring two runs, as David Goforth was unable to close off the rally, then pushed across the game-winner in the 10th inning on Julio Morban's solo homer.

Kyle Hunter (2-3) was the winning pitcher in relief.

Kevin Shackelford (1-2) was the losing pitcher, working just the 10th inning. Jeff Bradley got the start and worked 6 2/3 innings, giving up four runs on eight hits.

Nick Ramirez and Diaz Robinson each went 2-for-5 for the Stars. Diaz had two RBIs as did Kentrail Davis.

Six Generals hitters had two hits apiece in the 13-hit attack. D.J. Peterson and Morban hit home runs.
