Free summer meal programs in South Mississippi

South Mississippi schools and others are offering summer feeding programs.

n Abundant Life Evangelistic Church, 172 Rodenberg Ave., Biloxi, provides meals noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays through Aug. 1 for children to age 18.

n Biloxi School District will provide meals weekdays through July 18 for children to age 18. Schools and times: Biloxi Junior High, 8-8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; Gorenflo Elementary, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 4:30-6 p.m.; Nichols, 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m.; and North Bay Elementary, 7:15-8 a.m. and 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

n Gulfport School District will provide meals weekdays through Aug. 1 for children to age 18, or to age 21 if disabled. Gulfport High School will continue to offer meals Aug. 4-8. Breakfast, available only at Gulfport High, Pass Road Elementary and Gaston Point Elementary, will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. Lunch will be 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Gaston Point and Pass Road elementaries, Gulfport High and Gulfport Central Middle/West School. n Jackson County Civic Action Committee Inc. will provide meals to children to age 18 on weekdays through July 25. Lunch will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jefferson Street Head Start Center, 5343 Jefferson St., Moss Point; and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Gautier Head Start Center, 1017 U.S. 90, and the Taconi Head Start Center, 711 Magnolia Ave., Ocean Springs.

n Long Beach School District's Summer Feeding Program is at Quarles Elementary cafeteria, 111 Quarles Street: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. through July 31 for children to age 18.

n Morning Star Church Food Pantry, 165 Cedar Street, Lucedale, will provide meals weekdays through Aug. 1, 11 a.m. to noon for children to age 18.

n Pass Christian School Child Nutrition Department will provide meals to children to age 18 weekdays at Pass Christian Elementary and Middle School cafeterias. Breakfast will be 8 to 8:45 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through July 25. At DeLisle Elementary for the week of July 21-25, breakfast will be 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Details: 255-6200, ext. 106.

n Refuge Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, 5400 Community Street, Moss Point, will offer meals to children to age 18 weekdays through Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Details: 218-2595.

n Saucier Children's Library, 24006 First Street, Saucier, will provide its final summer meal Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. to children to age 18.

n The King's Kitchen, U.S. 90 across from the post office, Bay St. Louis, offers meals Mondays through Fridays from 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. All ages welcome.
