Thanks, Good Samaritans
Wednesday night, we ran over the curb at Winn-Dixie and couldn't get off. Two guys in a blue truck on Pass Road drove up to get us off the curb. They were a godsend. They were our angels for the night. They left before we got their names. I just want to thank them again. God bless them.
Barq's on the beach
Drinking Barq's on the beach. Was it against the law to have glass bottles on the beach in 1940? Probably not, people were more respectful back in those days and generally cleaned up after themselves. Just goes to show you how "upbringing" changes with time. Children are not taught any respect and it shows in their attitude towards all that happens these days. It would be nice to go back to the old ways!
Why all the recalls?
Why so many recalls on so many vehicles? Is it the components or the techs installing the components, causing the problem? It is so disappointing to pay such high prices for a little metal and a lot of fiberglass and plastic, to have a recall on the auto. Sometimes, this is the only means of family transportation. Have there always been so many problems?
Open the records
Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann wants his office and the state dismissed from a lawsuit by True the Vote to examine the voter records. He states that his office has complied with all election laws. I ask: Does the voter law say that these records cannot be examined simply because he says "all's well?" Mr. Hosemann -- keep these records under wraps and you only feed the fire that divides Mississippians. I really don't care about the outcome, just put this argument to rest sir and let us put the whole mess behind us. It is the right and legal thing to do.
I'm guessing that Chris McDaniel doesn't have a clue as to how he is alienating his potential constituents. At this point it wouldn't matter if he managed to get the nomination away from Sen. Thad Cochran. I wouldn't vote for him. There is such a thing as being a gracious loser.
Open the primaries
Thad Cochran didn't get my vote simply because I was not allowed to vote my way in the primary or the run-off because I'm a registered Democrat! I vote for the person, not the party, and I bet I'm not the only one, either. When are they ever going to have an open ballot where you can vote for who you want? The general election is too late if your person didn't win the primary. And I bet after the television appearance and big hoopla McDaniel has caused, a few people have seen him in a different light.
