Gulfport man suspected of distributing marijuana

GULFPORT -- A traffic stop late Wednesday night led to a 20-year-old Gulfport man's arrest on a charge of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Gulfport police said they stopped Tarey Cordell Johnson on a traffic violation at Engram Drive and Broad Avenue about 10:14 p.m. Officials said police found an undisclosed amount of marijuana in the vehicle.

Johnson was booked at the Harrison County jail. Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner set bond on the felony at $15,000.

Police also arrested Johnson on a misdemeanor charge of disregarding a traffic-control device.
