GULFPORT -- Authorities have called off a manhunt for two men who were involved in a police chase through Gulfport, Harrison County Chief Deputy Landi Phillips said.

The chase started just before 5 p.m. when a Pass Christian officer attempted to stop a vehicle matching a BOLO issued by Gulfport police related to an armed robbery that occurred Sunday evening, he said. The vehicle fled instead, leading officials north on Menge Avenue and east on Interstate 10. Phillips said the three men eventually bailed out of the vehicle near Prudie Circle, north of Dedeaux Road. He said the man believed to have been involved in the armed robbery was apprehended, but two others fled. After about 30 minutes, Phillips said, the search was called off because the other two men did not have pending charges against them.

Phillips said Gulfport was heading up the investigation regarding the armed robbery.

The identity of the man arrested has not been released.
