M-Braves shut down Stars, 6-0

Greg Ross threw a complete-game shutout as the Mississippi Braves topped the Huntsville Stars, 6-0, Monday night at Trustmark Park in Pearl.

Ross struck out three, walked two and gave up six hits in nine innings to improve to 2-0.

While Ross worked his way through the Stars' lineup with ease, Huntsville starter Jed Bradley struggled. He gave up five earned runs on five hits in four innings to drop to 1-4.

Mississippi put up a five-run fifth inning to grab control of the game.

Barrett Kleinknecht started the scoring for the Braves (46-35) with a two-run home run in the fifth.

Kyle Wren also had a nice night at the plate for Mississippi, going 3-for-5 with two RBI. Mycal Jones joined Wren with three hits, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
