GULFPORT -- Police have arrested four Gulfport men on charges of attempted commercial burglary and possession of burglary tools in an attempted break-in at Gulf Islands Water Park.

Police identified the suspects as Jermaine Octavia Winters, 30, Antonio Lamar Bogan, 28, Danuel J. Brown, 21, and Dewayne Jeh-Region Leonta Bowie, 19.

Police said they were arrested a short time after they were spotted in a vehicle riding around the water park at 11 p.m. Friday.

Police became suspicious when they spotted the same vehicle in the same area minutes later without any passengers inside.

Police later saw the same vehicle with all four suspects back inside and stopped them on U.S. 49, where they found burglary tools, to include hammers and flashlights, inside, Sgt. Damon McDaniel said.

All four suspects were taken to the Harrison County jail.

Bowie was being held on a $30,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner. Ladner denied bond for Winters because of an unrelated burglary charge and for Bogan because of two previous drug charges. The judge also denied bond for Brown because he was wanted on a felony probation warrant through the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
