Gulfport resident found family's vehicle being sold at scrap yard

Four arrested in theft of vehicle

GULFPORT -- Four people have been arrested after a Gulfport resident reported a stolen motor around noon June 26 and noticed a family member's vehicle had also been stolen, according to the Gulfport Police Department.

The resident said the motor had been sold for scrap and went to Southern Recycling to locate the vehicle. There, the resident found a man and woman attempting to sell the vehicle for scrap. The two fled when approached.

Elvenis Davis, 31, and Bryant Alexander, 30, face charges of grand larcey and motor vehicle theft. Kayler McGowan, 25, is charged with grand larceny and Sonya Davis, 21, is charged with motor vehicle theft.

Justice Court Judge Louise D. Ladner set bonds at $150,000 for Elvenis Davis, $100,000 for Alexander, $20,000 for McGowan and $20,000 for Sonya Davis.

They are all being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility.
