GULFPORT -- Police have arrested two persons accused in an armed robbery Saturday night in the Walmart Supercenter parking lot.

Police arrested Sterling Raheem Jules, 22, and Latoya Jacqueline Batista, 30, Tuesday on two counts each of armed robbery.

A man and woman reported an armed man took the man's wallet and the woman's purse about 11:31 p.m., police Sgt. Damon McDaniel said.

The man and woman gave police a good description of the couple and the vehicle they drove off in, he said.

Police arrested the couple Wednesday at their residence on Switzer Road.

Jules and Batista were held at the Harrison County jail.

Justice Court Judge Diane Ladner set bonds at $500,000 for Jules and $200,000 for Batista pending an initial court hearing.
