GULFPORT -- Two Gulfport men are accused in a forgery case alleging they deposited a stolen check in one of their bank accounts, police said.

Police identified them as Jarvis Trevez Sargent and Aaron Chanel Mays, both 21.

Their arrests came from a complaint about stolen checks on May 22, Sgt. Damon McDaniel said.

Investigators learned Sargent and Mays were seen depositing a $600 check into Sargent's bank account in an automated teller machine at Navy Federal Credit Union on Crossroads Parkway, he said.

The check was stolen and police believe Mays is the one who took it from an acquaintance.

Police arrested them Tuesday.

Both were held at the Harrison County jail.

Justice Court Judge Diane Ladner set bonds at $10,000 for Mays and $2,500 for Sargent.
