June 25, 2014

The Montgomery Biscuits topped the Huntsville Stars, 4-2, Wednesday in a Southern League contest at Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville, Ala.

Jake Hager's two-run home run in the second inning gave the Biscuits (40-37) a 3-0 lead and that proved all they would need. Hager has three home runs on the season.

Garvin Grayson threw four hitless innings to start the game for the Biscuits, but Mike Colla (4-8) picked up the victory by throwing a scoreless fifth inning.

The Stars received a quality outing from Jed Bradley (1-3), who settled in after giving up three runs in the first two innings. He lasted seven innings, giving up three earned runs on six hits with nine strikeouts and four walks.

The Stars (49-28) out-hit the Biscuits, 7-6, but stranded seven runners.

Nick Shaw was the lone Star with multiple hits, providing a pair of singles with a run batted in.
