New D'Iberville Community Center is ready for its closeup

June 25, 2014

A ribbon-cutting is set for Friday at 6 p.m. at the new D'Iberville Community Club on Lamey Bridge Road, next to the senior center. The Community Club dates to 1937 and this is the group's third clubhouse. The original, purchased from P.H. Mulholland, was the place North Bay area residents socialized. The club was chartered in 1955. The newest building took nine years to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina. Members will meet every first Tuesday at 7 p.m. and are planning bingo, monthly dances, food baskets for Christmas and Thanksgiving.
