JACKSON COUNTY -- Two pedestrians were struck and killed while crossing Mississippi 609 about 9:15 p.m. Monday, Fort Bayou Fire Chief Lyle Crandall said.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Lt. Johnny Poulos said the vehicle was traveling southbound on 609 when it struck the pedestrians, who were in the right lane, in front of the Holiday Inn Express.
Jackson County coroner Vicki Broadus said the victims are brother and sister. Other information is being withheld until next of kin is notified, Broadus said.
Poulos said the accident is still under investigation.
