Stars top Blue Wahoos in series finale, 6-2

Jason Rogers knocked in three runs as the Huntsville Stars won the rubber match of their five-game series, 6-2, over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos Monday at Bayfront Stadium in Pensacola.

Andy Moye improved to 3-0 as he pitched five scoreless innings for the Stars. He allowed three hits, walked four and struck out four.

Nine different Stars had at least one hit in a 10-hit attack.

The Stars (3-2, 49-26) took a 2-0 lead in the third inning thanks to Jason Rogers' two-run single into right field.

Nick Shaw provided an RBI single in the fourth to make it 3-0.

The Stars extended their lead in the seventh inning with a pair of runs with Rogers and Lucas May both knocking in runs.

Davis contributed the final run for the Stars in the eighth on his RBI single to score D'Vontrey Richardson.

The Stars travel back to Huntsville to begin a series at 6:30 p.m. today with the Montgomery Biscuits.
