Former Pascagoula pitcher Taylor Olsen will continue his baseball career at Mississippi College after signing with the Choctaws last month.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Taylor Olsen is a right-hander who went 11-1 as a senior at Pascagoula in 2012. He was named Sun Herald Pitcher of the Year that season.

Olsen spent the last two seasons on the staff at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

He is the son of former Pascagoula basebaball coach Johnny Olsen.

Mississippi College is making the jump to Division II this year as it makes the return to the Gulf South Conference following a 17-year absence while competing at the Division III level.
