Pascagoula's Collins receives D-1 football offer

Posted by PATRICK MAGEE on June 2, 2014

Pascagoula defensive tackle Jauan Collins has received a scholarship offer from Louisiana-Monroe, Pascagoula head coach Lewis Sims said Monday.

The 6-foot-1, 292-pound Collins also has an offer from Alabama A&M.

"It's great for Jauan," Sims said. "He's a great young man with great grades and a good work ethic. He's got an opportunity to go to the next level."

Collins joins receiver Jaylen Smith and defensive end Keith Joseph Jr. as members of the Pascagoula football team with Division I scholarship offers.

Collins was the most dominating player on the Pascagoula defense during the 2013 season, breaking into the opponents' offensive backfield on a regular basis.
