5 Rebels, 5 Bulldogs honored with release of All-SEC Baseball Team

Three Ole Miss players made the All-SEC First Team along with one MSU player

Five Ole Miss players and five Mississippi State players were honored Tuesday with the release of the All-SEC Baseball Team.

Former St. Stanislaus star Jacob Lindgren was the lone Bulldog on the All-SEC First Team as a relief pitcher. The junior left-hander is 6-1 with a 0.88 ERA with three saves in 25 appearances this season.

The Rebels placed three players on the All-SEC first team – junior first baseman Sikes Orvis, senior third baseman Austin Anderson and junior outfielder Auston Bousfield.

MSU second baseman Brett Pirtle and and left-handed pitcher Ross Mitchell both made the All-SEC second team.

They were joined on the second team by Ole Miss senior catcher Will Allen.

MSU's shortstop, junior Seth Heck, was named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Ole Miss shortstop Errol Robinson and MSU catcher Gavin Collins were both named to the All-Freshman Team.

MSU placed two on the All-Defensive Team, Pirtle and Heck.

LSU's Aaron Nola was named the SEC Pitcher of the Year and LSU shortstop Alex Bregman was named All-SEC Second Team.
