Mississippi State plans to add another QB

Posted by JAMES JONES on May 24, 2014

Mississippi State landed Texas quarterback Chason Virgil to its next signing class, but the Bulldogs have targeted a in-state signal-caller.

The Bulldogs are still high on Meridian quarterback J'Mar Smith, offering the rising senior a scholarship last season.

Smith, the son of former Alabama defensive tackle Kenny Smith, could play another position in college, but he wants to play quarterback.

"I've been talking to Mississippi State a whole bunch right now," Smith saidtold Bulldogblitz.com. "I've talked to them this spring and I'm going to try and go there this summer and see what I like about the atmosphere and the campus."

Smith's other two Division I offers are from Louisiana Tech and Memphis, but is likely to play in the SEC.
