Gulfport WR Richaud Floyd lands offer from Southern Miss

Posted by JAMES JONES on May 17, 2014

Southern Miss is the latest school that loves the receiving skills of Gulfport wide receiver Richaud Floyd.

The Golden Eagles joined Memphis and Cincinnati as the only Division I schools to offer the rising senior a scholarship, but several schools are interested in the big-play receiver.

As a junior last year, Floyd earned Sun Herald All-South Mississippi honors after catching 80 passes for 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Floyd is an honor student who has already qualified academically. He has a 3.7 GPA and a  ACT score in the 20's.

The 6-foot-2 Floyd will play quarterback for the Admirals this season, but some schools also see him as a defensive back.
