Gallup: Tea Party support is dropping

Posted on May 8, 2014

Gallup Is reporting support for the Tea Party is at its lowest levels in years.

The poll found 22 percent of Americans consider themselves supporters of the Tea Party with 30 percent saying they are opponents. The other 48 percent either are neither or have no opinion.

Among Republicans and those leaning Republican, 41 percent are supporters, quite a drop from the November 2010 high of 61 percent. Only 7 percent of Democrats say they support the party. They should have followed up with, "Are you yanking my chain?"
