Posted on April 29, 2014

Mississippi's Senate race has made the Center for Responsive Politics' list of Hot Races.

Mississippi was chosen because more than $1 million in campaign donations  -- and more than half of the total raised -- came from outside the state.

According to the center's OpenSecrets.org, on the Republican side Sen. Thad Cochran raised a total of $2,889,242, state Sen. Chris McDaniel raised $962,366. Democrat Travis Childers has raised $51,600, the center said.

And, according to RollCall.com, Cochran has $1,523,000 on hand, McDaniel has $466,000 and Childers, $52,000
