Brookhaven LB Leo Lewis chooses Alabama

Brookhaven linebacker Leo Lewis surprisingly chose Alabama during Easter weekend.

Lewis made his decision during the Crimson Tide's A-Day game the day before Easter Sunday at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.

Many recruiting observers expected Lewis to decide between Ole Miss and Misssissippi State, with LSU in the mix.

Out of nowhere, Lewis picked Alabama, winners of two of the last three national championships.

“I have always loved Alabama, besides the football program, it’s also a great school," Lewis told Bamamag.com. "It’s one of the best academic schools in the country. My mom loved it, so once I knew she loved it – it made it more special. So I pulled the trigger.

“They want me playing inside, just a big, physical inside ‘backer. I’ll stuff the run every time. I’ve been a big Alabama fan since day one, not too many people know that, but I’ve always been a big Alabama fan. It’s my dream school. It's where I want to be."
