Southwest Community College G Twymond Howard headed to Tennessee-Martin

Southwest Community College guard Twymond Howard has verbally committed to Tennessee-Martin.

Howard earned MVP honors at the MACJC All-Star Basketball game last week at East Central, scoring 20 points.

The Pearl native originally signed with Texas-El Paso, but eventually landed at Southwest CC. He averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds a game.

"Twymond is a guy that had offers at all levels but has a chance of making a huge impact in the Ohio Valley Conference" Southwest CC coach Casey Carter told JUCOjunction.com. "He really liked the idea of being close to home."
