Libertarians will host debate in South Mississippi congressional race

Posted on March 24, 2014

There are those in congressional and Senate races who don't have the cash to sprinkle ads over TV, radio and print, so public appearances and social media are about their only way to get the word out.

So, it's no surprise the lesser-knowns are the most eager to debate the issues at public events.

The Libertarian Party will give them a chance Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Innovation Center, 1636 Popp's Ferry Road in Biloxi.

Mario Barnes of the Libertarians said he expects Joey Robinson, the Libertarian candidate for the 4th District congressional seat held by Republican Steven Palazzo, to be there along with Democrat Trish Causey and Republican Tavish Kelly.

None of the other Republicans – Palazzo, Ron Vincent. Tom Carter and Gene Taylor – have committed to the debate.

Robinson will speak Thursday evening at 6:30 at The Zoo bar, 134 Blaize Ave., in Bay St. Louis.
