Gardner Minshew earns MVP honors at Rivals camp series

Quarterback is a deep position in Mississippi this year and Brandon's Gardner Minshew sits at number one.

The junior earned MVP honors at the Rivals Camp Series last week in Birmingham, Ala., impressing scouts with his rocket arm and accuracy.

UAB and Akron are the only schools to offer Minshew, but expect that to change in the upcoming weeks.

"I visited Alabama and Memphis and I'll go visit a lot of spring practices, that's about it so far," Minshew told "I'll be at just about all (summer camps). Just about every local school that shows me interest I'll go look at and throw for them.

"Southern Miss, La Tech and Memphis have come on strong this spring. I haven't gotten a chance to talk to (MSU quarterback coach Brian Johnson) yet but they told me to come visit this spring and I'll do that and meet him then. It'll probably be a day of practice and I'll go up for Super Bulldog Weekend."
