Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1 has been busy during its recent deployment.
Many of the Seabees' projects fall under the umbrella of growing relations with host nations through construction-related operations and humanitarian projects.
As depicted in several submitted photos, Seabees have spent time fabricating metal for projects in Yokosuka, Japan, and building a bathroom facility in Cambodia.
In between construction projects, the Seabees have spent time with local school children in the regions.
NMCB 1 left Gulfport earlier this month on a unique global deployment for operations in Japan, Korea, Philippines, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Guam and Diego Garcia. NMCB 1 also has Seabees stationed in Norfolk, Va.; China Lake, Calif.; San Clemente, Calif., and Gulfport.
The deployment is aligned with Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus' four priorities of people, platforms, power and partnerships, Chief Petty Officer Kim Martinez, public affairs officer for NMCB1, said.
