Today the Sun Herald introduces Gulf Coast Carnival Association's 2014 royal court.
Members of the royal court are usually the first clue each year as to who might be the king and queen of the largest and oldest Carnival organization on the Coast, because the dukes and maids, key girl, pages and flag bearers are often friends, family or acquaintances of King d'Iberville and Queen Ixolib.
Next Sunday on these same pages, the king and queen will be revealed. You can go to sunherald.com on Saturday night for an early peek.
The Mardi Gras parade is 1 p.m. March 4 in Biloxi.
The theme is Let the Celebration Begin.
The coronation ball will be 8 p.m. March 3 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, and the public is invited to watch for free.
The royal court and GCCA members have tables at the event, but the public can sit in the balcony to view the tableau.
