The National Association of Corporate Directors has announced Jerry Levens of Gulfport has become an NACD Fellow. Levens serves as a director on the board of Hancock Holding Co., chairman of the board of directors for Infinity Science Center Inc., chairman of the board for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce Foundatin Inc., and on the board of commissioners of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Grady Weston of Pascagoula has been elected president of Retired Education Personnel of Mississippi for the 2014-15 term. He will preside over state meetings, board meetings and delegate assemblies. He served two years as second vice president and two years as first vice president. He will also represent Mississippi at the national conferences. His focus includes preserving the Public Employees' Retirement System and working with the Legislature.
Kronda Smith and Tammy Green have joined Keller Williams Realty. Smith has been in real estate since 2008. This is Green's first year in real estate.
Dale Partners Architects announces Marshall Graves passed his architectural registration exams and is a licensed architect in Mississippi. Graves is based in the Jackson office and has been employed at Dale Partners for eight years. The firm also announces that Neil Polen and Charlie Stewart have joined their firm as intern architects. Polen joins the Jackson office and Stewart joins the Biloxi office. They are associate members of the American Institute of Architects.
Business Network International announces Ron Sivak as area director consultant. Sivak is responsible for the coordination of BNI director consultants and ambassadors to ensure the success of BNI chapters and their members including chapter growth, member retention and the formation of new chapters. He will support BNI chapters in the southern Mississippi region including the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Hattiesburg areas. Sivak is a senior account executive with Employee Liability Management.
Katie Kravette has been named customer service specialist of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce. Kravette brings with her more than 20 years of communication, marketing and program development experience. She is a Coast native and graduated from William Carey College.
Ann Bowden-Hollis, of Butler Snow, was elected chair of the Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions. She is the first woman and the first attorney whose practice is located outside of the Jackson metropolitan area to hold this position. Butler Snow has an office in Gulfport.
The Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, has appointed Kimberly Nastasi, chief executive officer of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, to chair the Winter Board of Regents. Nastasi will help implement the policies created by the Institute's National Board of Trustees.
Million Air appoints Col. Charles W. Eastman as general manager of the Fixed Base Operation at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport. Eastman has overseen all company operations in support of locally based and transient aircraft customer services.
The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main Street-Tourism Bureau gave recognition of accomplishments in the community of 2013 at its annual banquet. Stopher and Lauren Haug and Judy and Fred Thurman were awarded Volunteer of the Year-The Joseph F. Tinney Award. Ambassador of the Year was awarded to Ashley Peresich of Rushing & Guice and Sherri Johnson of Community Bank. Outstanding Volunteer of the Year went to Bill Moore and Steve Pivnick with Keesler Air Force Base and Scott Wells with Rushing & Guice. Restaurant of the Year was presented to Vestige Restaurant. Small Business of the Year went to Coffee Fusion owned by Adam Flinchum. Marketing Partner of the Year was given to South Mississippi Living Magazine.
