On his death bed, President Washington willed that his birthday date should be moved at the convenience of those wishing to provide future Americans with a deal on a comfortable mattress.
About a look
About that five-day stubble growth, we men just want to look a little Brett Farvish.
Either or ... ?
So, waiter or waitress, you would rather have no business at all than to have a less than 15 percent tip?
This is truly heartbreaking. Mississippi cannot afford to provide Medicaid for our neediest citizens, cannot afford to provide teachers and other state employees with adequate pay, but can afford to provide a sales tax-free day for frivolity?
Clean up time
As usual, those dastardly litter bugs have had a busy winter so it is up to us good citizens to welcome spring with a little housekeeping -- namely litter patrols in our neighborhoods. You may have an expensive home and well-manicured yard but the unsightly trash across the street is making a statement about your community.
Why do you care?
Why do we have to have these man-bashing Sound Offs about a five-day growth of beard? What business is it of yours anyway how a person chooses to look? Are you a member of the collective and want everybody to look, act and say the same thing? I was born an individual, not some sheeple like you. No wonder this nation is messed up. People like you need to go take a flying leap off of a cliff somewhere if you're so miserable.
How about naming the baseball team the Dolphins -- Biloxi Dolphins, Mississippi Dolphins or even the Coastal Dolphins? Think about souvenir items such as dolphins jumping over waves on shirts, dolphins on springs on sticks to wave about during the games, dolphins as rubber erasers on children's souvenirs, and so on. Dolphins are pleasant to watch, can "cut" the waves and are smooth, entertaining and make people feel happy.
With all of the public money and resources about to be spent on building a minor league baseball stadium on privately owned land in Biloxi I ask what is the current status on the necessary replacement of the Popp's Ferry Bridge? Did this stadium push it to the back burner? I remember that in 2000 and 2001 public officials were looking at a target date of 2014 or 2015 to begin construction. Will it now be pushed back to 2029 or 2030? Can somebody among our local "movers and shakers" answer that -- or care to even try.
