Sandhill crane that was hit by vehicle is released back home

A Sandhill crane that was injured earlier this month after being struck by a car was returned home on Friday, February 21, 2014. The crane was rehabilitated at the Audubon Species Survival Center in New Orleans. Staff from the Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge and the Audubon Species Survival Center released the crane near where he was found by the Fontainebleau unit of the refuge in Ocean Springs.
