BAY ST. LOUIS -- A Bay St. Louis man has been arrested on multiple charges including one alleging he kidnapped two people from Ridgeland.
Police arrested Robert Kelly Hanson Jr., 33, at his home Thursday after being notified that Ridgeland police were looking for two kidnapping victims, Police Chief Mike De Nardo said.
The quick response of police and sheriff's investigators and others "brought a very dangerous situation to a quick end," De Nardo said in a news release.
Police arrested Hanson on two counts each of kidnapping and possession of stolen property, three counts of sexual battery and one count of simple domestic assault. The latter charge is a misdemeanor.
De Nardo declined to say whether those kidnapped are adults or children and if they are the ones believed to be sexually assaulted.
"Any further details may jeopardize the investigation," De Nardo said.
He said more charges could be filed.
Hanson was held at the Hancock County jail pending bond hearings on the felonies. His bond on the misdemeanor is $5,000.
