Hattiesburg prevented an All-Coast matchup in the Boys' and Girls' Division 7-6A basketball tournament.
Gulfport rolled past Hancock 57-39 in the Division 7-6A tournament semifinals as Jahshire Hardnett scored 20 points and Dimitri Cook added 14. The Admirals will play Hattiesburg in the Division 7-6A finals on Friday night at Hattiesburg High School. The Tigers beat Harrison Central 63-48 in the semifinals.
Harrison Central goes for its fourth straight Division girls' title on Friday after beating Gulfport 39-27 in the Division 7-6A semifinals, as Shaneice Cooper scored 11 points and Philmecia Drakeford added 10. The Red Rebelettes (17-10) will face Hattiesburg, who beat Hancock 59-51, in the tournament finals.
At the Division 8-6A tournament, it will be a Biloxi-St. Martin duel in both the boys and girls championship games. St. Martin beat Ocean Springs 79-45 in boys play while Biloxi rolled by D'Iberville 63-43 in the other semifinal.
In the girls games, St. Martin beat Ocean Springs 55-19 in one semifinal while Biloxi overcame D'Iberville 46-39 in the other semifinal.
The Division 8-5A Tournament girls and boys title games will both feature Pascagoula-Gautier matchups. The No. 1 Pascagoula boys thoroughly dominated East Central, 72-26. No. 1 Pascagoula girls held East Central scoreless in the second half on their way to a 63-14 win. The Gautier girls earned their first postseason bid since 2008 with a 34-21 victory over George County. Gautier beat George County 49-30.
In the Division 7-5A semifinals, Picayune and West Harrison will meet in the boys' and girls' championship games on Friday night. West Harrison beat Long Beach 82-52 as Zeke Lee and Deanthony Bowie each scored 14 points.
In the Division 8-4A tournament semifinals, Bay High beat Poplarville 48-35 as Conner Ladner scored 15 and Kelton Piernas added 14. Rojae Raine led the Hornets with 16.
